Ending sexual violence. For all.

Ending sexual violence. For all.

The Alliance Against Sexual Violence (The Alliance) leads New York State’s mission to end sexual violence through education, prevention, research, and policy advocacy. Until that work is done, we will be here for all survivors and the organizations that serve them.

We are New York’s only statewide sexual violence coalition.

The Alliance trains professionals, builds capacity, and advocates for resources — so that rape crisis programs can focus on what they do best: serving survivors and making communities safer.

Prevention

Sexual violence is preventable. We equip communities across New York State with the knowledge and skills to prevent sexual violence and respond effectively when it occurs.

Research

We generate the evidence needed to create meaningful change. Our research identifies gaps in services, reveals where survivors are underserved, and informs policy and systems change.

Training & Technical Assistance

We train the people survivors turn to first. From healthcare providers to legal professionals, we deliver specialized, trauma-informed training that strengthens the entire sexual violence response system.

Legislative & Policy Priorities

We advance policy change that strengthens New York’s response to sexual violence, advocating for the legislation and resources that support survivors and the organizations that serve them.

The Alliance Against Sexual Violence does not provide direct services to survivors of sexual violence.

We’re Expanding Statewide to Become The Alliance Against Sexual Violence

When we met at our State of Sexual Violence Response Conference in 2024 for the very first time, it was just one week after the federal election—a moment filled with uncertainty, reflection, and resolve. Our 2025 conference, one year later, followed our very own New York City mayoral election.
