2026 Adult SAFE Course
September 9–10, 15–16, 18 // 8:00am-6:00pm ET

Our 40-hour Adult/Adolescent Course is accredited by New York State Department of Health (NYS DOH) and International Association of Forensic Nurses (IAFN). This four-day course educates medical professionals on providing patient-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive care to adults and adolescents who have experienced sexual violence and is a pre-requisite for completing the Pediatric Course. The Adult/Adolescent course is a hybrid model, inclusive of a self-led online pre-course and live lectures over four days: two days in-person and two days over zoom, followed by a clinical half-day.
Please note: Our current waitlist is approximately 3-6 months and completion of the waitlist form neither guarantees your participation in the course, or attendance at your preferred course. Individuals currently working within an NYC hospital emergency department or a hospital with an active SAFE program will be prioritized. Professionals who live outside of New York State, or who have not completed medical training are ineligible for the Adult/Adolescent Course.
Course Eligibility
To be eligible for our Adult SAFE Course, participants must be a medical professional licensed in New York State, have one year of post-graduate clinical experience, and must be currently employed in an NYC hospital in the emergency department OR employed in a hospital with an eligible SAFE Program.
